Overview
The ControlByWeb X-400 or X-600M controllers can only provide up to 1.7 Amps for powering any associated expansion modules. Hence in applications where a large number of expansion modules are used that would normally exceed this current limitation and where additional current capacity is needed, a DC power injector can be employed to power the next set of expansion modules.
The CBW Expansion Bus Power Injector has two ribbon cable connectors and a connector for supplying power to the expansion bus separately from an X-400 or X-600M controller.
The communication signals pass-thru the power injector but the DC power from the X-400 or X-600M does not. The power injector thus provides the additional power for all of the expansion modules to the left side of the injector. The ribbon cable itself can only carry 1.7Amps maximum. Install one or more power injectors such that no portion of the ribbon cable exceeds 1.7Amps.
Note: It is recommended to power a X-400/X-600M controller and power injectors using the same power supply.
