The Liebert RDU from Emerson is a leading edge solution which provides monitoring ability for proactive management at the rack level. It allows the user to set predefined thresholds, detect and be notified of critical conditions for parameters such as temperature and humidity within Computer Rooms and Individual racks.
The RDU-S can export historical data and analyze for trends to help avoid the same issues in the future

How Does It Work?
Customer sets threshold for environmental factors (ex: UPS Load, Rack/Room Temperature)
An email, SMS or an SNMP trap is sent to the customer when issues are detected
The data monitored is recorded in XML data format allowing export to third party applications such as databases,spreadsheets, etc.
It also records all critical systems condition in data and event log which can then be used for capacity planning and trending.
