Micron’s Meridian 64 TCP/IP alarm controller offers a world first in secure, native mode Contact ID communication over IP in CSV format to any existing IP enabled central station receiver with the CSV protocol implemented.
The alarm panel can be manufactured with a backup Telco dialler option and programmed to communicate in any combination of IP, Telco, GPRS or GSM communication modes, to provide both primary and multiple backup communication options.
A plug in GPRS upgrade module is a standard for wireless alarm communications to central station receivers and for communicating SMS messages to uses phones.
The Meridian 64 can be accessed by a locally connected or remote internet connected computer or smart phone via the alarm panels IP address, with multi level security.
Programming screens provide a very intuitive graphical user interface that makes alarm programming easy and fast.
In TCP/IP setup a ‘Locking’ key can be set to disable selected tabs from installer access. This is particularly important for monitoring companies to control access to TCP/IP setup programming to their receivers.
Programming files can be named and saved to the programming computer, then accessed to program new alarm panels via the windows based programming interface.
A ‘Firmware Upgrade’ option on the TCP/IP setup screen enables the remote downloading of new versions of the Meridian 64’s firmware from micron’s secure web site.
A Receiver Self Test software module provides Contact ID CSV format reporting and testing to a connected computer during alarm installation.
The Meridian 64 supports CBC encryption.
The alarm panel has five outputs, three with relays and two further outputs configured as open collector. Two of the relay outputs may be configured by a “jumper”, while the third is for the siren.
An output can be configured to monitor and reset the internet router or fibre optic hub in the event the router or hub stops communicating.
The Meridian 64 can also be configured as an intelligent network backup device, to maintain network availability and alarm communication in the event of a power failure to the internet router or fibre optic hub. This is especially important with native ADSL and fibre optic networks in preventing communication loss during power outages.
The end user interface is via micron’s new virtual keypad on a computer, PDA or mobile phone with multi level security, or new icon LCD RS485 Bus keypad. The LCD keypad has a high luminosity backlit LCD and large universal LCD graphics that make the keypad very intuitive and easy to understand.
The virtual keypad enables alarm control and also displays the alarm panel’s inputs and outputs, battery, mains, Telco and RF signal status. End users can remotely control outputs for lights or water heating via the virtual keypad interface.
The Alarm Setup Software can be customised and viewed in any language. Customised zone and output labels and new languages can be added very easily by updating the installer accessible language text files.
The Meridian 64 has four partitions and four areas per partition that allow common zones and common areas. There are four account numbers and the panel features multiple NO or NC end of line resistors which can be configured as one resistor, with or without tamper, two resistors (4 states) fully balanced and two resistors offering independent zone doubling.
The Meridian 64 base system has 16 zones and can be expanded using 16 zone expansion modules, each with 5 outputs, to provide up to 64 zones. With an on board RF receiver, alarm inputs can be a combination of wireless, addressable RS485 Bus connected or standard end of line alarm input devices.
Swinger shutdown, line fault monitoring, intruder tracking and other anti false alarming features using ‘multi knock’ and ‘multi zone activation’ provide for a state of the art alarm panel with TCP/IP internet monitoring connectivity.
Micron’s Meridian 64 TCP/IP alarm controller offers a world first in internet connectivity and native mode Contact ID CSV format through internet alarm monitoring.
