The EC-2 converts PSTN alarm signals to TCP or UDP and communicates native mode Contact ID over IP in CSV format to any IP enabled central station receiver with the CSV protocol implemented.
EC-2 can be programmed locally or remotely via the product's IP address.
The EC-2 can be connected to power the on site router and an output can be enabled to re-start the router in the event it stops communicating.
The EC-2 supports EC/CBC encryption.
A ‘Firmware Upgrade’ option on the TCP/IP setup screen enables the remote downloading of new versions of the EC-2’s firmware from micron’s secure web site.
A Receiver Self Test software module provides Contact ID CSV format reporting and testing to a connected computer during EC-2 installation.
Installation is as simple as taking the phone connection from any PSTN alarm panel, plugging it into the EC-2 and then connecting the EC-2 to the ethernet port of the site's ADSL, cable or fibre optic router.
